Begin where value is greatest
The work can start with one clearly scoped data domain or initiative and proceed at a pace the organisation can absorb and govern.
From business requirements to governed data and workable implementation.
Digital Fields is a Stockholm-based consultancy working at the intersection of business and IT. It helps companies translate business, operational and regulatory requirements into governed data, workable processes and implementations that can be adopted and managed over time.
The company specialises in product data, PLM, supply chain traceability and Digital Product Passport preparedness, with particular experience in fashion and textiles.
Profile
Digital Fields is led by Vendela Lamm—a senior consultant and programme manager with a degree in business and economics and 15 years’ experience in fashion and textiles. She leads business-side change initiatives on behalf of the client, bringing together product data, processes and accountabilities across companies, functions, systems and suppliers.

BUSINESS × DATA × DELIVERY
Between 2021 and 2026, Vendela carried out a multi-year engagement for an international multi-brand group operating in around 30 countries. She led the implementation of a group-wide PLM platform—from requirements definition and process design through to rollout and ongoing governance. The engagement included the governance of product, material and supplier data, as well as the establishment of shared ways of working and clear responsibilities across group companies and functions.
She subsequently led the implementation of a platform for supply chain mapping and order-based traceability. The solution makes it possible to trace an individual order across multiple tiers and show which suppliers, components and processes were involved—and who carried out each step. The work included data mapping, integrations and the onboarding of approximately 300 tier 1 suppliers.
The engagement also included preparations for the Digital Product Passport. In this work, Vendela acted as the business subject-matter expert and described the information flows for systems architects and specialists as input to the solution architecture. She also developed recommendations on sequencing, standards and identifiers, including relevant GS1 standards.
The role combined project management, product ownership, process design and advisory work.
Before that, Vendela worked closely with product development in engagements for a global fashion company and several international premium, sports and lifestyle brands. This gives her a practical understanding of how product data is created—and what is required when information needs to be standardised, governed and reused at group level.
The experience behind the approach
A recurring lesson from PLM implementations, supply chain mapping, traceability and Digital Product Passport work is that fundamental data questions are rarely solved fully within a single system or digitalisation project.
A project may achieve its objectives while leaving questions of meaning, quality, sources and accountability unresolved. They then have to be handled again for the next implementation, integration, customer requirement or regulatory change.
The starting point must therefore be the data and what the business needs to do with it. Only then can shared definitions, permitted values, sources, verification requirements and accountabilities be established across functions and systems.
Support can begin with the product data foundation, DPP readiness, or the leadership of change and implementation.
How Digital Fields works
The work can start with one clearly scoped data domain or initiative and proceed at a pace the organisation can absorb and govern.
Every engagement should establish definitions, rules, sources and accountabilities that can be reused across processes and systems.
The deliverable should stand on its own: a documented structure the company can use, govern and extend.
